Scotland 4...rest of the world 0!!

Yet another victory for the superb Team Martin over Jackie Lockhart's World Champions in the curling skins challenge. Interesting format, not sure if it will catch on, but certainly makes the game entertaining!

Fantastic to see the girls up on the Queen's Honours list. About time they had some recognition. Well done!!

Check out this essay on curling and the media from J. Raymond. Very interesting click here

Yet another medal for the Scots!! Warrick Smith and the boys narrowly beat the USA 6 - 5 to take the bronze medal, while Canada romped home to take the men's gold. What a year for Scottish curling!!

We've done it again!! A stunning win over Sweden gave the girls the title - pretty impressive for Scotland - now reigning Olympic and World champions!! It all came down to Jackie's last stone, reminiscent of Rhona's final shot at Salt Lake. I must admit, my heart was in my mouth when she elected for the takeout, but she played it to perfection. Unfortunately, the men lost in their semi to Norway, but now play the USA for the bronze.

Another great win for the girls yesterday, beating Canada 5-4 again to take them into the final where they'll meet Sweden. It'll be their toughest match yet, but with a guaranteed medal, they should just go out and enjoy it. Meanwhile, the men play Norway in the semi and the women's bronze medal match is between Canada and Norway.

With narrow wins over Korea and Norway, the girls are in the semis, while the men are also there with 6 wins from 8 games. OK, so maybe Canada can make it to the semis!! The first tie-break is between Denmark and Switzerland, with the winers playing the defending champions.

After their first defeat of the tournament, the Scots came back strongly against the out of form Canadians who now probably can't make it to the semis. Meanwhile, Norway are pushing them close, the Germans and Americans are pretty much out and Warrick Smith and the boys remain unbeaten in the men's pool.

Well, Rhona's rink may not be representing Scotland in the World Championships, but Jackie Lockhart and co are doing us proud. So far, with 4 wins out of 4, they sit top of the table and look a pretty good bet for the semis.
